Description
ScTi's WIVIS® sensor provides present weather and visibility readings into a very effective combination. This product is our premier road weather instrument. The WIVIS® is widely used by state DOT's across the US and other transportation authorities throughout the world such Japan Highway.
Patented ScTi technology uses adaptive environmental algorithms to optimize sensor performance in all weather conditions. ScTi has added several new features including WMO codes, past data storage, automated calibration, and optional hail & ice pellet detection to further enhance sensor performance. WIVIS® analyzes multiple channels of data to calculate the present weather and visibility. This approach recognizes that weather sensing requires a dynamic measurement, continually adapting to the environment at the moment. A new self-compensating algorithm makes field calibration unnecessary for up to 2 years.
WIVIS® reports precipitation occurrence, precipitation type, precipitation intensity, precipitation accumulation, in a variety of weather codes (NWS / WMO) and units of measure (English / SI) as well as visibility. The WIVIS® is perfect for general weather observation, transportation information, and other similar applications. It is arguably our most successful commercial grade weather instrument.
