Description
OWI™ offers the user a present weather sensor with performance that rivals the LEDWI® but at a lower cost. Based on the design concepts of the field proven LEDWI® and WIVIS®, it has excellent performance but with slightly reduced EMI and operating temperature specifications, and without hood heaters.
Like its counterpart, the WIVIS®, the OWI™ is an excellent road weather instrument. The only differences are: 1) the WIVIS® comes with visibility sensing while the OWI™ does not and 2) the OWI™ is lower in cost than the WIVIS®.
Many of the OWI™ features make the instrument excellent for efficient, real-time, remote weather sensing. The OWI™ provides present weather information such as precipitation rate and type in a digital RS-232 output format. You can link the sensor directly to your PC. The output comes in both NWS and WMO code formats. The OWI's small weight and size make it easy to handle. While the OWI's U-bolts configuration gives the user an easy and flexible method of installation.
