Description

ScTi offers the clear advantage in precipitation measurement. ScTi optical precipitation sensors are the only sensors on the market today that measure true rain rate and snow intensity. Sensor performance is continually optimized through the use of adaptive environmental algorithms. Using patented scintillation technology, no other precipitation gauge comes close the ORG's performance and features.

The ORG-815 features "all-weather" performance, measuring snow intensity as well as rain rate. Lens heaters are provided to clear the optics of frost and ice and a thermistor probe helps the microprocessor discriminate between rain and snow (digital version). Advanced algorithms calculate the precipitation type in both NWS and WMO Code formats, rate (mm/hr), and water equivalent accumulation (mm).

Other features of the ORG-815 include 1) an innovative diagnostic algorithm that automatically identifies errors to insure data quality, 2) a control line to drive an external relay for snow detection, and 3) a simple RS-232 interface compatible with commercially available software and computers.

The ORG-815 replaces our old model, the ORG-715, ScTi’s Optical Precipitation Sensor. With its new look, the ORG-815 uses the same proven technology with some noticeable improvements: 1) Lighter frame, 2) More rugged design, and 3) U-bolt configuration makes the ORG® easier to install—no mounting pole needed. The truth is that our Optical Precipitation Sensor is "Better Than Before!"
